List Categories

The list categories function, found under the Categories navigation menu presents you with a data table with all parent categories setup within the system when clicked. The data table consists of the following items below which are described in detail:

Courses Data Table

  • Category Name - The name of the category as it was setup using the Create Categories function
  • URL Friendly Name - The alpha numeric name of the course presented in the URL bar for SEO capability
  • Order - The order that the course is presented on the end-user part of the platform when listing courses
  • Chapter Count - The number of sub categories contained within the course
  • Video Count - The number of videos contained within the category as a total, this consists of the videos assigned solely to the category as well as those within a sub-category.
  • Visible - Whether the course is visible to end-users
  • View (button) - View the data table of sub category assigned to the course
  • Edit (button) - Edit the details of the selected category
  • Delete (button) - Destroys the category and any associated sub-categories along with related data. This function does NOT destroy the videos as they are linked independently.

When clicking the View button on the Categories data table, you will be dropped into the Sub-category data table. This is relatively the same as the above but most of the course data is now replaced with the selected chapter's data.

Sub-Category Data Table

  • Category Name - The name of the sub-category as it was setup using the Create Categories
  • URL Friendly Name - The alpha numeric name of the sub-category presented in the URL bar for SEO capability
  • Order - The order that the sub-category is presented on the end-user part of the platform when listing categories
  • Video Count - The number of videos contained within the sub-category
  • Edit (button) - Edit the details of the selected sub-category
  • Delete (button) - Destroys the sub-category and any related data. This function does NOT destroy the videos as they are linked independently.
